Can my partner and I have different levels of cover on a Joint policy?

Yes you can. However, it may be better to buy separate policies.

Variable levels of cover are available on Joint life insurance policies (i.e. each party has their own amount of protection).

If you are considering any Joint policy for critical illness cover then we suggest you also get quotes for having a separate policy for each person. Why? Because with a Joint policy, if there is any claim the policy will automatically finish. The surviving policyholder is then left uninsured and at an older age when it is more expensive to obtain insurance or maybe impossible due to deteriorating health.
